nutella banana bread
I came across a similar recipe for muffins at the beginning of this quarantine craziness but it was daunting making a huge batch of muffins when Andrew isn’t really even into banana. And well, Annabelle and I can only take so many carbs…ok, I am only talking about me here.
I decided to bring a loaf to a friend and tweaked a couple of the steps to make it simple and only 2 bowls (HOW MANY DISHES ARE WE DOING IN QUARANTINE? AMIRIGHT?) needed. You can whip this up in less than 15 mins and have a piece in hand in less than an hour and a half. HEAV - EN. Banana and Nutella are basically bff’s that go together like no other.
Needless to say, my friend said it was a hit with the whole family and I had to recreate for my sister in town this weekend, enjoy friends! It’s a good one!
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup melted butter
1 + 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup nutella spread
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
Combine bananas, sugar, egg, and butter together in a bowl. Mix flour and baking soda together in a separate bowl; stir into banana mixture until batter is just mixed. Stir salt into batter. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
Spread a thick layer of nutella across length of the batter.
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean, about 1 hour, 15 mins.
I recommend waiting at LEAST 20 mins to dive in, it’s hot as heck and it get crumbly if cut into too early!
Devour gladly!
