We have been talking about this room for so long. It has held a special place in our hearts even when it was our guest room…Dan Gutman’s room, Mitch Gutman’s room…Kathy Buri’s room and all of the other guests we have had who have signed the guest book.

But it was always the future #bebépapp’s room. And we are both so thrilled with how it turned out.

We wake up most mornings and make coffee and head here to chat about the upcoming day. Andrew has claimed the chair as his own and pretends he is holding her and my heart basically melts into 400 pieces of goo. Helmut has accepted it as another one of his room’s so let’s hope he is that accepting to share it when the time comes.

I wasn't always super clear about the vision of the space until one night it all just came to me when I had serious insomnia. Sometimes those are when the best ideas come about.

We knew we wanted to incorporate a map because Andrew and I both love to travel and this baby has been to 5 foreign countries already. The artwork is from one of my oldest friends that I have saved since as far back as 2003. Sometimes hoarding comes in handy!

And the rest is filled in by a mixture of carefully selected pieces (Andrew is ridiculously picky with anything that is in this space…can you tell what kind of daddy he is going to be?) and our generous family and friends.

We are officially ready for baby girl…and can’t wait to see how she makes this space her own.
